Feeding Tumaini Children

Tumaini has regularly cared for 80 children but the current numbers are down to half of that due to the challenges of feeding the children who are resident. In large part this has been caused by the war in Ukraine which has caused the price of maize flour to increase to several times its pre-war cost.

We have secured land on which to grow crops and this is slowly being cultivated. What promises to make a difference most quickly is a project to raise livestock, which would help feed the children and provide a source of income from selling outside.

The cost to buy pigs, goats and chickens, building a shelter, together with the necessary medicine and feed will be £1,200 and we already have 50% of that sum promised.
